Water almost never enters a roof directly above where it appears inside. It gets in at a flashing, a penetration, or a lifted edge, then travels along a rafter or the underside of the sheathing before it finds somewhere to drop. This is why so many roof repairs fail — someone sealed the ceiling stain's nearest neighbour and the actual entry point is eight feet uphill.
One of our published reviews is from exactly this situation: a leak another contractor had missed, traced properly and repaired once. That is the work we are good at — diagnosis before sealant.
We should also be clear about what we are not. We are a remodeling outfit that does roof repair well, not a dedicated roofing company doing full tear-offs and re-roofs. If your roof genuinely needs replacing, we will say so and tell you to get a roofing specialist rather than selling you a repair that buys six months.
What a roof repair includes
- Inspection of the roof surface, flashings, and penetrations
- Interior inspection to trace the path water is actually taking
- Photographs of what we find, so you can see it without going up there
- Honest assessment of repair versus replacement
- Targeted repair of the entry point, not blanket sealing
- Flashing, boot, and penetration renewal where that is the cause
- Interior drywall and paint repair once the leak is confirmed stopped
